What are YOUR favorite TV Channels?

popcorn_channel_surfing-300x199 Since the summer, I have set some boundaries for myself concerning work. I no longer work nights. I shut down my computer after usually after I put the kids to bed between 7:30 & 8:00pm. My husband works nights and goes to bed around 6:30pm, so I have the whole house to myself after everyone is in bed. It is sooooo nice!

I, often times, watch TV before I go to bed. I love to flip channels and what I noticed is that I usually flip to the same 5 or 10 channels. And I thought about how interesting that is. I wonder if it is just because I am a creature of habit or maybe other people actually do the same thing? I used to scroll through every channel, but now I have all of my favorite channel numbers memorized and I just click on them.

Here is a list of my favorite TV channels:

Sitcoms: Seinfield and the Office

1 Hour Shows: House, CSI, CSI Miami, NCIS

Nature & Travel: Deadliest Catch, Bizarre Foods, Globe Trekkers

Real Life Documentary Shows: I like any of them on TLC about all the people with the unbelievable health issues. My latest favorite is “I Didn’t Know I was Pregnant” Did you ever see that one? I think I will need to write a whole separate blog post on it. So crazy!

Real Life Mystery / Murder / Drama: 48 Hours, The First 48, there are more – but my mind went blank… LOL

I love most of the same channels you do …. Discovery and History are my faves! One show my hubs got me addicted to was Lost … not sure I would have watched it had he note made me watch the first season all in one sitting … LOL .. but yes we have become addicted to that. I love SuperNanny and Home Makeover on ABC too

Currently on Sunday nights I watch Extreme Home Makeover (when I can) and Desperate Housewives on ABC. On Monday nights I watch Heroes on NBC. On Tuesday nights I watch the new 90210 on CW. On Thursday nights I watch The Office (and I used to watch My Name is Earl until the rudely canceled it, lol) on NBC.

I also love The Dealiest Catch, Operation Repo, The Real World, and Ace of Cakes.

I used to watch Life on Wednesday nights on NBC but they canceled it this season. They also canceled a really great show a few years back just after one season called The Black Donnellys which I really loved. Fox also aired a show called Drive a few years ago which was canceled during the first season. I also love Canterbury’s Law on Fox a few years ago which was canceled too.

My fave channels are ABC, Food Network, and Lifetime. My fave shows are Paula Deen Cooking Show, Grey’s Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives, and the Golden Girls.

I too am a creature of habit. My faves are:

The Office, CSI, NCIS, House, Numbers, What not to Wear, and Top Chef. I also love American Idol when it’s airing. I don’t watch a whole lot of TV, but when I do those are the shows I choose.

My favorite channel (when I had cable) was Food Network, then MSNBC, CNN, BBCNEWS, Lifetime, and ABC Family. I’m a huge TV addict, when I have cable, so I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have it right now. I have a hard time watching those medical shows, they tend to gross me out…or completely entrance me I would love to stop writing at 7:30-8, but it’s not likely that it’s goign to happen anytime soon.

I like some of the channels you already listed (History Channel, PBS, TLC). I also like TVOne (reruns of Amen, Living Single/also like original program Unsung…which is sort of like Behind the Music), ABC (LOST..need I say more?!), Oxygen/Hallmark (reruns of Golden Girls), NBC (Dateline), FOX (Animation Domination on Sundays), Cartoon Network (Adult Swim), TBS (reruns of Seinfeld, Family Guy, Friends, The Office, Everybody Loves Raymond). I used to watch shows like Snapped, 48 Hours Hard Evidence, Cold Case Files, but now I get the creeps thinking about the sickos out there.
I have seen I Didn’t Know I was Pregnant…craziness!
I think I watch too much tv.
