I think this is every mama’s worst nightmare.? I have not cut my daughter’s hair in over a year.? It grew pretty long (shoulder length).? I was busy busy on the computer and the kids had gotten pretty quiet after being in the bathroom to wash marker off of their hands.
All of a sudden, I hear from my son “Mommy, Leeah is using scissors”.? I SHOT up from my desk and ran to the bathroom to see my daughter with scissors in her hand and a good portion of her hair chopped off.?? I was SCREAMING!!
The funny part is that she cut her hair and cleaned up after herself while doing it.? Here is what the garbage looked like when I walked in.
And this is my darling daughter crying after I screamed at her.? Her hair is so dark and thick that you really can’t see much of the destruction, but she cut huge chunks out of the sides of her hair.
It took me about an hour of cutting (and keep in mind, I am not a hairdresser by any means).? I can use a buzzer to cut my sons hair, but not much else.? My daughter actually fell asleep sitting up because it took me so long.? LOL? And moms, yes, my 3 yr old still uses a bobo on occasion.? It was the only thing that would calm her down, and I was pretty desperate.
Here she is about to get into the tub.
Oh my gosh Dawn…SUPER CUTE!!! She is a sweetheart, and you did a GREAT job!!
What is it are our children channeling info from us through Twitter or something. My son cut my daughter’s today, argh! And she has PRETTY curls. I was furious.
OH MY GOSH! My worst nightmare and yet something I have done as a child! It looks so cute though! You did a good job afterwards, Dawn! I really like it…and it WILL grow back!
Her hair looks cute! And I wouldn’t worry about the binky. My toddler still uses one every night and when she’s very upset (she never really picked a lovey of any sort) — I just remind myself that she won’t go off to college with one. 🙂
My daughter did a similar thing. She decided she didn’t want a fringe anymore, so she cut it off…nearly at the roots! It looked so weird, and there’s not a lot you can do with hair that short. It grew back, but I did worry what people thought I had done to her!
Oh too cute,I’m sure you were upset, but after the fact you see how exploring th world around them as they do we get a great new view ourselves,or rather a refresher from how we once viewed it ourselves! It will grow back, you did a great job,and she looks as though she’s recovered nicely too!All is well with the world, thanks for sharing
Wow that was alot of hair! U did do a good job.She really looks cute. It’s funny when I was there last wk I noticed her always pushing her hair back. She mite nt b 1 of those long haired girls.Who does she remind u of 🙂 luv ya
I love little girls with short hair, and I especially love the way her hair flips out in the back. It sounds like you want it to be long, but I think you should consider keeping it this length. It’s beautiful! 🙂
You did an excellant job. When I was younger, I didn’t cut my hair, I cut my sisters. A big chunk right out of the bangs, the night before picture day.
My son came home from school once with two big holes in the knees of his pants, that he cut out himself.
I think it’s adorable! Not much else you can do at that point, eh? 🙂 Note to self: Make sure any future daughters understand they may not cut their own hair!
Boys can be buzz cut… my brother cut his own hair, of course right in the front, on picture day of 1st grade. He has a funny looking buzz cut for the picture, but after a few days looked like any other boy!
You did a good job fixing it. My daughter did the same thing. I think (hope) she is out of that stage.
Oh she looks darling! That is my worst nightmare–that my little Kate will get a hold of scissors and cut her beautiful curly locks (knock on wood) You did a nice job on your daughters hair 🙂
omg…thank goodness she didn’t harm herself with those scissors. you did a great job and she looks adorable!
she looks so happy in the last picture so you did a great job!
