Site Review – MomFaves.com

Josh and Rebecca Unfried created Mom Faves as a platform for word of mouth to go to a whole new level. It gives moms an opportunity to share about what they love and what works for them.? This in turn helps other mothers around the country to make good decisions concerning products, websites, stores, restaurants, events, and so much more.

The site’s content is created BY MOMS and FOR MOMS.? It helps moms to have a content source and be able to research without it taking hours.? Everything is on one site.

All you need to do to is register and then share your top picks in a wide variety of categories.? You can then choose your favorites and “Fave It.”? Once you check out the site, you will understand.? If your favorite isn’t listed, you can add it to the site and watch as other moms promote that product by choosing to “Fave It” as well!

MomFaves.com was inspired by the memory of Josh Unfried’s mother, an outgoing teacher who loved nothing more than to share what she loved with her friends and family.? Josh created Mom Faves to facilitate this sharing between moms around the country. Mom Faves was incorporated on October 29th, the third anniversary of his mother’s death, and will be launched officially this Wednesday, on what would have been her 57th birthday.

Norma Unfried loved parties, and the Unfrieds asked that we celebrate the site launch with a SiteWarming Party on Twitter this Friday, February 13th from 9 to 10 p.m. EST (#momfaves). And of course there will be door prizes and a fabulous Goody Bag contest with lots of fave-worthy products!

My First Vlog – Children and TV

I have recently starting Vlogging! (Video Blogging) through NewBaby.com.? This is a place where moms can learn, share, and create memories through video.? I am so excited because I was asked by NewBaby.com to be one of the mom product reviewers.? They even sent me my very own Flip Video Camera in order to get started.? How cool is that?!!

So, I will be sent baby / child related products that I will video and share what I think of the product.? These videos will get posted on the site for other moms to view.? They also have random discussion questions that we can participate in vlogging about.

My first video discussion was on the topic of “Children and TV”.? Check it out!

I Love Faces – Kid Picture Entry

I Heart Faces is a site? focused on the art of capturing faces and their various emotions. Each week, people from across the world have the opportunity to enter their favorite face photos into two different categories ~ Kids and Adults.? A judge will pick one winning photo from each category that will then be displayed on their home page.

The theme for this week is “Joy”, so I decided to enter this photo of my son on his first day of school.? I took this of him getting ready to go into his classroom.? He was soooooo excited!

My Daughter Got a Hold of the Scissors

I think this is every mama’s worst nightmare.? I have not cut my daughter’s hair in over a year.? It grew pretty long (shoulder length).? I was busy busy on the computer and the kids had gotten pretty quiet after being in the bathroom to wash marker off of their hands.

All of a sudden, I hear from my son “Mommy, Leeah is using scissors”.? I SHOT up from my desk and ran to the bathroom to see my daughter with scissors in her hand and a good portion of her hair chopped off.?? I was SCREAMING!!

The funny part is that she cut her hair and cleaned up after herself while doing it.? Here is what the garbage looked like when I walked in.

And this is my darling daughter crying after I screamed at her.? Her hair is so dark and thick that you really can’t see much of the destruction, but she cut huge chunks out of the sides of her hair.

It took me about an hour of cutting (and keep in mind, I am not a hairdresser by any means).? I can use a buzzer to cut my sons hair, but not much else.? My daughter actually fell asleep sitting up because it took me so long.? LOL? And moms, yes, my 3 yr old still uses a bobo on occasion.? It was the only thing that would calm her down, and I was pretty desperate.
