How did you meet YOUR husband??
When I first started getting involved on Twitter.? I really had no idea how it would impact and change my life for the better.? It has opened more doors than I can count.? I have met some wonderful friends all over the world and have picked up more work than I know what to do with.
Here is a great video that explains Twitter in simple English:
So, now you understand how Twitter works and helps you to connect with people on a personal level.? Well, there is an even greater benefit to Twitter – NETWORKING FOR BUSINESS!? Here are 50 Ideas on Using Twitter for Business.? I am a prime example of how you can take a small business to the next level using Twitter as a marketing tool.? It gives you the opportunity to connect with the world and share about who you are, what you are doing, and how you do it.? It is a place to get to know others in your field of work.? It is a place to ask questions and seek feedback on work projects.
For example, I just finished a website for a client and I posted the link on Twitter and asked if people could share their thoughts on the design, layout, and content.? I got several replies and was able to work from that to make the site even better than it was.? The more people you connect with, the better.? Your world expands.? Your opportunities increase.
I am an online virtual business assistant and I tweet daily about what I am doing.? For instance, when I am working on a blog graphic – I share something like this: “Working on Custom Blog Header for a client.? Anyone interested?? Check out my site….” ? People respond if they are interested and WORK COMES IN!? It’s great!
There are also other fun aspects of Twitter such as Twitter Parties or get togethers.
I was informed earlier today that I was included in a tutorial about Twitter parties.? I checked it out and WOW – there I was!? I am the one on the bottom right (@PainterMommy)? Hit the play button to go from page to page and learn more about what Twitter parties are.
Twitter parties are a great place to meet new people with like interests.? And really the basis for relational marketing is building relationships.?? You can get to know people and then share about who you are and what you do.?? A fun party that I like to go to on Tuesday nights is #GNO (girl’s night out).? They usually have an interesting topic of discussion that helps everyone to connect and share their thoughts.
If you have a small business and you are not currently on Twitter – you are missing out!? it is the #1 Social Networking site on the internet!
Here are few more informative links on Twitter and how it works –
A few weeks ago I asked for help from my readers in coming up with my very own blog award to offer to some of the special blogging people that I have come in contact with online.? I had some great responses with really creative ideas, but I could only choose one.
Here’s a list of some of the many great suggestions and ideas:
It really was a tough one, but I decided to go with the ideas of? BOTH Gen and Rebecca.
Gen said “You could name your award something like The Painted Life Award. And have the contestants send your an entry of how they would like to paint their lives.”
And Rebecca said “I really love the idea of tying your award into your personal pursuits (the things you blog about) so I kind of like something like a ?Mural Award? since it?s a huge part of what you do. You can present it to people who you feel create blogs with content full of ?dimension and life? – just like you describe how you feel about your own creations.”
So here it is everybody!? The Birth of Painter Mommy’s FIRST Award!!
This blog award is dedicated to those who live a colorful and creative life through the writings of their blogs.? Just like each careful stroke of an artist painting a masterpiece, they write and share from the heart – life, advice, tips, reviews, information and anything else that adds life and color to their blog.
Here are the award rules:
1.? Pass it on to as many blogs as you think might deserve this award
2.? List some ways that you show your colors and creativity on your blog.? Are you “real”?? Do you speak from the heart?? Do you have a passion for anything in particular?
3.? Link back to this post & come back here and add your post URL on Mr. Linky (below)
Here are the FIRST recipients of this award.? Be sure to check out their blogs!
For those of you whom I chose to receive the award, feel free to pass it on by following the rules above.? Thanks so much!? Love you guys, Love your blogs!
Even if you were not in the last and you are a blogger, please comment!? List some ways that you show your colors and creativity on your blog.? Are you “real”?? Do you speak from the heart?? Do you have a passion for anything in particular?
I would love to hear from you!
I was so blessed this morning to be contacted by one of my VA clients (Christie Crowder) who told me that she had something for me on her blog.? Christie is a radio talk show host for a show called Chatter Box Radio.??? She also has a great blog called My Life – A Work in Progress.
I will actually have the pleasure of meeting Christie on the upcoming Twitter Cruise to Jamaica in August.? We will both be speaking – how awesome is that?? I will share more about that in a later post so stay tuned!
Anyway, Christie came up with an awesome award called the “Monday Maven” for “someone who is dazzlingly skilled in any field, a trusted expert, and seeks to pass knowledge on to others.”? Wow!
Here is what Christie wrote about me on her blog: (I am so honored!)
“My Maven has helped me so much in the last couple of weeks because I am an organizational mess! A special thanks and big bloggy hug to Dawn, The PainterMommy who is one of the best VA’s in the universe! She helped me out big time by creating my FaceBook Fan Page and revising all of my social networking profiles…and making them cute to boot! She is incredibly patient with my scatterbrained tendencies and that alone makes her very special! She too was one of my very first followers on Twitter and I appreciate her help and friendship.”
What exactly is a blog award? Well, it’s a way of sharing your support, appreciation, and recognition towards a fellow blogger whose blog you enjoy reading.
I have been wanting to create my own blog award ever since I started blogging and receiving blog awards.? So far, I have been blessed with? 6 or 7 awards.? These awards include: Your Blog is Fabulous, Hooked on your Blog, Honest Scrap, Butterfly Award, Best Mommy Award, Aloha Friend Award, and a couple more.? I just love being honored and recognized by my fellow blogger friends with these fun awards.
I have been wracking my brain with ideas for a blog award that I could give.? Here are a few:
I can go on and on.? But for now, I would like to get the opinion of my fellow blogging buddies and ask you to share your ideas.? You are welcome to choose your favorite from my list above, or come up with something creative on your own.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.? If I do choose a title that you have come up with, I will be sure to give you some bloggy recognition as well as a special treat – a custom blog button or graphic of your choice.? You can see examples of my work on my VA site? at www.DPK-VirtualAssistant.com.
A blog award also comes with some stipulations.? If you GIVE a blog award, the recipient is required to pass it on to a certain amount of people and there is usually a short writing assignment with it as well.? For instance with one award, I was asked to share 10 things about myself that nobody knew.? I suppose the assignment would have to go along with the specific award.? So here is another opportunity to get creative.? Put your thinking caps on and SHARE SHARE SHARE!!
I can’t wait to hear your ideas and suggestions!? Let’s see what we come up with!? Thanks ahead of time for being a part of my blog.? I appreciate you and am always happy to hear your comments.? 🙂
